The 2026 conference is due to be held at the Royal Armoury Leeds from 07-08 May 2026. The dinner will be held in the same location

Aim

The aim of the conference is to promote research and education throughout the cadre. It will also provide trainees with the opportunity to network with the cadre and present their work at a national conference.

This year the conference is with the Combined Services Plastic Surgery Society (CSPSS) to enhance MDT working. Their website can be found at https://www.cspss.co.uk/.

Abstracts

Abstract submissions are mandatory for all trainees and are to be submitted by email to secretary@csos.org.uk by 1700hrs on 31st March 2026. Abstract format can be found here. A CC1 form must be submitted for all presenting authors and can be found here. Please note, by submitting an abstract, you will be giving your consent for the abstract to be published within the Bone and Joint Journal Proceedings.

Conference Fee claim

The T&O DCA, Col Guthrie, intends to undertake group 1797 application to the Deanery, with an aim to secure funding to reimburse conference fees for Residents from both the T&O and B&P cadres. All T&O and B&P Residents must inform secretary@csos.org.uk that they have successfully registered for the CSOS / CSPSS conference by NLT 1700 hrs on 28th February 2026. Emails MUST be from each individual Residents including: full name, rank and service number, stage of training and speciality, current unit and Tx date. Responses will be collated and forwarded to the DCA for the group 1797 application for consideration of Deanery funding. Residents will be updated on this situation, as and when further details are available.
